David McCulloh

Friday, March 27
2:30 PM – 3:15 PM

Session Description:

The Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology’s (SART) Clinical Outcome Reporting System (SARTCORS) is an online database for Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) Clinics to provide SART with data concerning all ART patients, ART procedures performed, and their outcomes. Use of the system provides the clinic the opportunity to:

  1. Comply with reporting requirements of the Fertility Clinic Success Rate and Certification Act of 1992 (aka: The Wyden Bill)
  2. Submit data to SART that can be monitored for trends in procedures/outcomes and adverse outcomes
  3. Consolidate data in one system that can be used by the clinic to monitor itself (quality management)

The purpose of this presentation will be to elucidate the need for quality data entry so that extracted data about ART procedures and outcomes can be interpreted meaningfully.

Session Objectives:

Following the presentation, the attendee should understand:

  1. The data reported in SARTCORS
  2. How the data are used in the Clinic Summary Report and the National Summary Report
  3. Other uses of the data for ART surveillance
  4. The need for accurate entry of data
