Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What do I need to apply?

A:
Basic information will be requested of you on your scholarship application. You should also be prepared to upload a letter of nomination. Please see the next question for additional detail on the requirements of the letter.

Q: What does my letter of nomination need to include?

A: You must attach a letter of nomination on official letterhead from your fellowship chair, department head, or faculty that includes the following statement:

“This nomination is made with the full understanding that the nominee shall attend the PCRS activity for which the scholarship has been awarded for the full schedule of the event starting on Wednesday, March 25, 2020, and ending on Sunday, March 29, 2020, at noon. Failure by the institution to allow the nominee appropriate time for travel and attendance of the event will not only void the scholarship for this nominee but will jeopardize applications from others from this institution.”

Q: I don't know if I can attend the full schedule of the meeting. Am I still eligible for a scholarship award?

A:
A scholarship application is submitted with the full understanding that, if awarded the scholarship, your attendance for the full schedule of the event starting on Wednesday, March 25, 2020, and ending on Sunday, March 29, 2020, is required. Failure to allow the appropriate time for travel and attendance of the event will not only void the scholarship but will jeopardize future applications from others from your institution.

Q: I do not know whether or not my abstract will be accepted for presentation at the 2020 Annual Meeting. Should I apply for a scholarship any way?

A: Yes. PCRS scholarships are not awarded until all abstract assignments have been determined. You may submit your scholarship application in advance of those decisions being made.
