Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What do I need to apply?

A:
Basic information will be requested of you on your scholarship application. You should also be prepared to upload a letter of nomination. Please see the next question for additional detail on the requirements of the letter.

Q: What does my letter of nomination need to include?

A: You must attach a letter of nomination on official letterhead from your fellowship chair, department head, or faculty that includes the following statement:

“This nomination is made with the full understanding that the nominee shall attend the PCRS activity for which the scholarship has been awarded for Thursday, March 20, 2025 - Saturday, March 22, 2025 (Fellows are also required to attend Fellows Day on Wednesday, March 19, 2025). Failure by the institution to allow the nominee appropriate time for travel and attendance of the event will not only void the scholarship for this nominee but will jeopardize applications from others from this institution.”

Q: I do not know whether or not my abstract will be accepted for presentation at the 2025 Annual Meeting. Should I apply for a scholarship any way?

A: Yes. PCRS scholarships are not awarded until all abstract assignments have been determined. You may submit your scholarship application in advance of those decisions being made.

Q: How much financial coverage will the scholarship be?

A: Scholarships may include airfare, registration fees, a transportation allowance, and a sleeping room based on double occupancy. Funding is limited and full scholarships are not guaranteed. The amount of financial coverage depends on the amount of accepted scholarship applicants.
