ASRM Embryo Transfer Workshop for REI Fellows 

Workshop Date?  Wednesday, March 19 (AM Session). Intensive, half-day Workshop.Adjourns prior to start of the PCRS Fellows Day Program. Participants must arrive by Tuesday, March 18.

What is the ASRM Embro Transfer Simulation Workshop & Certificate Course?

The ASRM Embryo Transfer Workshop is an intensive .5-day curriculum-based program consisting of two components:   1) Online pre-activity coursework and 2)  half-day of intensive hands-on simulations in the basic principles and techniques of human embryo transfer. 

Pre-Workshop Assignments: Access to the online ASRM Embryo Transfer Certificate Course (ETCC102) to be provided upon confirmation of your registration.  The online Pre-Workshop assignments includes self-assessment Confidence Survey; Literature Review of F&S articles, Readiness Assessments; 10 short (micro) videos; Difficult Scenarios; and 4 Assessments (short quizzes) requiring a score of 80% correct for each assessment. Access to the online Certificate Course will be provided to registered participants by March 4, 2024.   

Hands-on Simulation Workshop (.5 day): Using high-fidelity simulators, participants will practice and demonstrate the different techniques of performing an embryo transfer (Direct, Trial Transfer followed by Direct Transfer, and Afterload Techniques) under ultrasound guidance in a variety of different uteri of varying levels of difficulty. Interspersed with the hands-on simulation exercises are didactic presentations, debriefing sessions, and interactive discussions after each lesson.  At the conclusion of the Workshop, participants will have performed 50+ simulated embryo transfers.
