Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and nurses play a vital role in reproductive medicine practices. There is no standardized course of study available to train new APPs and nurses or further the education of experienced nurses and APPs in REI. Ultrasound is relied upon heavily in this field to make clinical diagnoses, manage a patient's care, formulate treatment plans and provide appropriate education and counseling. Many clinicians learn on the job, so many have not completed formalized education regarding obstetric and gynecologic ultrasound. It is imperative that APPs and nurses are knowledgeable regarding ultrasound technique and interpretation, so that they can communicate effectively with patients and/or properly perform ultrasounds. This session will address ultrasound evaluation of the uterus and adnexae, common benign pathology, and tips for the ultrasonographer.
