Session Description:

Fertility care for the LGBTQ+ patient has evolved considerably over the last 30 years, from a hostile environment in which many programs would not treat same-sex couples as a policy, to one in which gay patients are actively recruited. This session will address how to identify and change lingering relics of a less friendly time that still may persist unconsciously in your practice, and review best practices for this growing segment of patients.

Session Objectives:

  1. Identify structural homophobia in your program

  2. Identify clinical policies that tolerate queer patients from ones that welcome and celebrate them

  3. Describe how to integrate best practices for the LGBTQ+ patient into your daily routines
